After honing my interviewing and reporting chops as a novice writer for The Daily Illini from 2008 to 2012, I gained fresh perspectives and further refined my skills by working for Columbia Journalism School’s digital media outlets as a graduate student. Upon graduating J-School, I served as the only woman of color business reporter to actively cover ten beats across Westchester and Fairfield counties in New York and Connecticut, respectively.
A few years later, I joined WeWork’s digital magazine team as the sole staff writer. I became a project lead, spearheading digital content creation for a site called Creator's Manual, an A-to-Z guide on how to start, operate, and grow a company, built on the collective knowledge of the global WeWork community. I also lent my expertise in audio storytelling and through a podcast created space for WeWork community members to share candid stories about how facing their biggest fears led them to strike out on their own as an entrepreneur.
